Working at HealthEcon requires in-depth expert knowledge acquired through an academic education and hands-on experience, as well as the ability to use and to adapt acquired expertise to specific questions. These demands are directly linked to HealthEcon’s guiding principles:

  • Our work is defined by the needs of our clients: To meet these consistently requires profound knowledge on methods and tools from several academic disciplines at the same time.
  • Accumulating facts is not sufficient: The variety of challenges and requests we face inevitably requires the skill not only to apply established knowledge and methods, but to develop and to adapt them to any given situation.
  • Constantly challenge yourself: Working with people of a different educational background and different professional working experience means constantly reappraising your own judgment in the light of other people’s knowledge and experience.
These „guidelines” are represented at the level of HealthEcon’s executive board by Prof. Dr. Eva Susanne Dietrich and Dr. Stephan Ruckdäschel. Prof. Dietrich is a pharmacist by training and former member of the G-BA (Gemeinsamer Bundesausschuss, Joint Federal Council, i.e. the German institution tasked with making reimbursement decisions in the statutory health care sector), who has several years of experience working in the public sector in Germany. Dr. Stephan Ruckdäschel is an economist by training with several years of hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Members of HealthEcon apply their competencies for the benefit of our clients by providing services through research performed in our Basel office, as well as by temporarily joining clients’ project teams at their regional offices.
